This is the gown Cynthia wears while attending the card party at the Miss Brownings', where she meets Roger for the first time. What caught my eye about it was the bodice draping detail and its tailored lines. It looks like silk with a very fine tone-on-tone window pane check. The neckline is a moderate scoop. The bodice is likely darted, with two panels of gathered fabric secured at the shoulder and waist forming the drapery. The sleeves are gigot with turn back cuffs.

The skirt, pleated at the sides and smooth in front is separated from the bodice by a wide waistband. A 1" tuck appears to run the circumference of the skirt just above the hem.
