They inspire us, captivate us, and stay with us forever!

Remember seeing your first period costume movie? Maybe it was an old classic you've enjoyed for years, or a newer rendition that you found hidden on the shelves of your public library. Either way, how did the costumes affect you? I remember my first costume movie: Anne of Green Gables. That started my fascination with early 20th century fashion. Maybe you, like me, were intrigued and delighted by Edwardian era gowns, or maybe that elegant Regency dress caught your eye in a Jane Austen movie. Have you ever wondered if costumes like those can be recreated?

Here I will share screen stills, sketches and diagrams, my comments as well as photographs of costumes women like you have made that are inspired by period costume movies. It can be done with a little research, an eye for fabric, and some good patterns (see the pattern review section for more information). Be inspired to take your creativity to new heights and try new techniques! I welcome your comments and pictures of gowns you have made based on either the feature movie or other costume movies. I would love to showcase your gown here!

Warmly,
Miss C.
