Blue Jumper(Note: This description contains a spoiler about the movie, and you'll want to skip over the first paragraph if you haven't seen it!!) |
| The jumper,
sweet and simple and very suitable for modern wear, was
worn by Molly in the scene near the end when Roger Hamley
proposes. Of a medium denim-blue, this could be made of a
number of fabrics: llight wool, heavy cotton, or even a
firmly woven linen. The bodice is fitted with double darts and has a low round neckline. Around the neckline, down the front and round the hem is a white, straight-edged lace trim. I would estimate its width at about 0.5" to 0.75". There are white buttons down the bodice front and skirt. A narrow waistband separates the skirt and bodice. In episode three, Molly wears a matching belt with this jumper. The skirt front is smooth while the back is either gauged or finely pleated. |
| You could
wear any number of blouses, but here is a summary of the
two I noted with this jumper: The first has a wide,
square collar edged in lace. It has long sleeves and
plain cuffs. The second blouse is similar in style, save
it has a narrower collar. Be sure to check out the Inspired Interpretations page to see Mrs. Chancey's version of this charming ensemble! |
